WA: United regional approach to terror needed - Crean
Opposition Leader SIMON CREAN says the Jakarta bomb blast demonstrates the importanceof a united regional approach to fight terrorism.
Mr CREAN says the car bombing which killed up to 16 people was a ruthless act of terrorism.
He's told Perth radio 6PR he felt sick to the stomach when told of the blast outsidethe five-star Marriott Hotel in the Indonesian capital yesterday.
He says Australia is well-positioned to assume a leadership role in a collective regionalresponse against terrorism, which should begin with a regional summit.
However, Mr CREAN's rejected the idea of US military bases in Australia to assist inthe war against terrorism.
